 Plan et accès

The association "Vivre en Cotentin" was created in 1985 and given CPIE status in 1993.

Its stated aim is to create a tool that can be used to study all matters relating to the environment, and to educate and inform as many people as possible via dynamic presentation of the subject.

The association has about 100 members and 15 salaried staff, and offers induction and awareness tours for the general public, educational visits for school groups (ranging from half a day to residential visits), themed nature courses, as well as creating material to facilitate discovery of our natural heritage and architecture (explanation trails, signs, exhibitions, information packs, topoguides...)

On behalf of local bodies, the association also makes available its ecological expertise, carries out impact and development studies, and produces communication materials about environmental matters.

On top of all this, it also plays an active part in the management of natural sites (working locally on the Natura 2000 site "Landes de Lessay - havre de Saint-Germain-sur-Ay", managing the Mathon Natural Reserve, and organising volunteer projects).
