 Plan et accès

This château is a 12th C fortress built on an island in the middle of an artificial lake.

There is an old legend which tells of how the château’s inhabitants changed themselves into geese using a spell from a magician’s spell book in order to escape from the Norman invaders.

Wander over the estate and you will come across defensive gates, a farmyard and chapel, the old bakehouse and the Salle des Plaids where a 20th C tapestry is exhibited, relating the exploits of Norman knights in Italy and Sicily.

The château has been listed by Monuments Historiques et Sites since 1968.

Open daily throughout July and August, and daily, except Tuesdays, for the rest of the year (except for annual closure 01/12 to 31/01).

Opening hours: 10.00 am-12.00 noon/2.00-6.30 pm (5 pm Oct-Mar).
