The name of Laulne evokes the existence of many trees (alders). In the village you can find the highest point in the district (92 m high), right next to the old site of the Castillons roman camp, the ruins of which disappeared in the 1960s

Laulne was once home to several famous people: William of Laulne fought at Hastings beside William the Conqueror. Turgot, one of Louis XVI’s ministers, bought a château there and third consul Charles François Lebrun acquired a farm. During your visit make sure you visit the craft foundry.
