BEACHES

The district of Lessay boasts 30 km of fine sandy beaches, between Bretteville-sur-Ayi n the north to Anneville-sur-Mer in the south. Their gentle slopes provide an ideal area for numerous outdoor activities, such as walking, jogging and sand yachting, as well as for building sand castles!

At high tide the seaside is a swimmer’s paradise whilst at low tide it becomes the favourite hunting ground for pêcheurs à pied (beachfishermen searching for crabs, shellfish etc).


The seawall promenades offer holidaymakers beautiful walks all year round : whether to appreciate the sunset in the summer months or to get a good breath of fresh sea air in the winter.


Through out the summer season, the beaches at St-Germain-sur-Ay and Pirou are supervised by specially-trained lifeguards from the SNSM.  Other beaches along thecoast are provided with emergency alarms.
