"Les Heures Musicales de l’Abbaye de Lessay" association was founded in July 1994 by Monsieur Jean-François LE GRAND (then Lessay’s mayor and a local councillor) and Monsieur Edme JEANSON who for many years, had helped to organise concerts in the abbey church in Lessay.
The association’s committee, together with an army of volunteers, organises between 13 and 17 high quality concerts every year and since the beginning has attracted some of the most prestigious French musicians and ensembles,including the Arts Florissants, the Chœur Accentus, the Folies Françoises, the Parlement de Musique and the Concert Spirituel,as well as choirs from Russia and ensembles from the Ukraine and Bulgaria.
